March 2010 Meeting
Hi everybody my name is Aree Altments I am the vocal leader at Equippers Church city campus, and I wanted to report on the amazing night we recently experienced with the NZ Worship Network.
The first of the NZWN’s quarterly events for 2010, held on Tuesday March 9th, gathered as many as eighty five leaders from all around Auckland and beyond, united in wanting to hear what God is saying to the church as a whole. The night started off with fellowship in the foyer of Equippers Church, and gave worship pastors and leaders a chance to connect and converse about what God was doing in their own churches, ministries and personally.
Once upstairs in the upper theatre, Ps Wayne Huirua welcomed everybody and then introduced the team from Life Auckland, to lead us in praise and worship. The Life team are seeing God do significant things in their church and carry an anointing that Wayne himself said we need to catch and likewise carry. The selection of songs chosen for this time were heartfelt worship and we all sensed the Holy Spirit ushering us into the presence of God and taking us deeper.
Creative Arts Director from Life Church, Ps Tony Crawford, brought a deep testimonial word from his heart, which had us all prostrate before God – humbled and totally surrendered in His presence. This time was integral to what we believe he is going to do to cause a shift in the way we as worship leaders worship and live.
After such a time with God, we simply allowed the Holy Spirit to minister and speak, bringing a prophetic word to his people. Isaac Graham (Equippers Creative Ministries Pastor) prayed over the leaders for a shameless confidence to arise: a confidence that would not be timid or fearful, but one that would birth a boldness to move when God says to without hesitation. Even if God’s instruction and leading seems random!
After what felt like much needed heart surgery, we all drifted back downstairs to the smell of freshly brewed coffee accompanied by a delicious supper of tropical fruits, brownie and savoury dips and cheeses. Mmmmmm!! Thanks to the totally awesome team serving. Not to mention the smiles that seemed to glow everywhere ending the night perfectly. People felt encouraged, built up and churches in the region will definitely feel the impact of the evening!
You don’t want to miss the next one – all I can say is, what a great start to the year!
